One of the most difficult experiences for any new business-owner is taking on employees. There’s all the red tape, cost of advertising, red tape, finding the time to interview and train new recruits, and oh, did I mention the red tape.

What if there was a way of avoiding the HR headache completely? Well one entrepreneur in Germany has come up with the perfect solution – robot employees. Well, kind of.

Restaurateur, Michael Mack, has opened a fully automated eatery just outside of Nuremberg, Germany.  ’S Baggers has no waiting staff at all. Instead, diners order food from a touch screen at their table. The whole restaurant is linked to a central computer, which processes the orders and sends them up to the kitchen.

The system even keeps an eye on stock levels, and gives customers an estimated delivery time on their food and drink. The food is delivered down from the upstairs kitchen through an elaborate rail system and customers then pay by swiping their credit cards.

Ok, so Mack still has to employ the chefs, but when it comes to the waiters there’s no need to concern himself with staff theft or minimum wage requirements. As far as I know the EU has yet to impose such employee legislation on artificial intelligence. Watch this space though.
