People employed in London are the least happy in their jobs, research by recruitment-agency rating firm Hirescores.com has found.
The survey of over 1,600 employees found that three-quarters of staff in the capital think about trying to find a new job on a daily basis. London is closely followed by the South East in the league table for unhappy workers, where 69% are unhappy in their current role.
Workers in the South West of England are generally happiest in their jobs, with only 11% admitting to contemplating new employment opportunities every day. Scottish workers are also positive about their jobs, with less than 20% wanting to switch role or company.
Lisette Howlett, managing director of Hirescores.com said that despite financial benefits associated with working in the capital, the majority of employees remain unhappy.
“This may be due to a combination of factors such as the high cost of living, potentially poor work-life balance, and current uncertainty about jobs due to the sudden financial downturn,” Howlett commented.
