iXpert, founded in 2004, has developed a system which is designed to simplify the way that medical reports for legal cases are made.

The company’s Medical Network System will enable lawyers to advise medical professionals directly; currently standard practice states that they will go through an outside agency.

The software offers online appointment booking, a tracking service to monitor progress and a rating facility which grades the quality of each expert’s report.

Health professionals pay an annual subscription to be included on the panel but the system is free to lawyers.

The £100,000 investment from the Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF) will enable the company to expand and rollout the system to clients nationwide.

iXpert currently employs seven staff but expects to take on at least nine more this year.

The company predicts that its turnover will reach £600k this year, rising to £1.4m in two years.

Jason Moorcroft, managing director at iXpert, said: “The personal injury market is getting increasingly competitive and it is essential that solicitors become more efficient in order to maintain their margins.

“The system will reduce their operational costs and increase revenue streams for health professionals involved in the medico legal sector.

“MSIF’s cash is vital to expand the business. It will enable us to take on new staff so that we can market the product to clients nationwide.”
