What do you do?

Ten UK organises things for people. We are the UK market leader in lifestyle management and concierge services. What does this mean in practice? Entrepreneurs are our single largest group of members. They can call or email a lifestyle manager here, and ask us for help on absolutely anything on their to-do list. This could be work-related, but it also very much includes out-of-work tasks. The main areas we help people with are travel, entertainment (tickets, restaurants and so on), running the home, researching and buying things, and business needs.

What size of company suits you?

With small businesses of fewer than 10 employees, it’s very often just the owner who would become a member. However, with the bigger companies of around 100 employees, often the managing director gives the service to everyone in the organisation as an employee benefit and a productivity driver. Why should I care? For entrepreneurs in particular, time is the one asset you can never get more of and we can help you spend it more productively.

What can you do for me that I can’t do for myself?

We can find the best answer, for whatever question or request you have, quicker and more completely. So far we have taken care of around 750,000 things for people, so we have built up a huge wealth of experience and have experts in every one of the major industries. This means we can buy, say, cars quicker and cheaper than anyone else. Or we can get tickets on Friday for Saturday night shows even if they’re booked up and can get tables in fully booked restaurants or the best flights.

What mistakes will you prevent me making?

Firstly, we will prevent you from hiring someone specifically to do all these tasks for you who might not be up to the job. And secondly, we can stop you getting too involved in the little things that make you take your eye off the ball. We can take care of all those things that you’re not best at yourself, so you can get on with running your business.

How else will you save me money?

Through better research – we have the time and expertise and industry experts in-house. We’ve also got the buying power that most businesses don’t have. We have the buying power of 80,000 corporate and private individuals.

Give me an example of one business you’ve worked with this year.

We have been working extensively with Tom Aikens, the youngest-ever Michelin starred chef. In the last couple of years, Tom has set up two restaurants, published a book, become the consultant to Heathrow Terminal 5 for the food and has basically had a very busy year. We have helped him organise his private life, sourced some of the more difficult things he needed for the opening of his latest restaurant and organised the fixing of things in his restaurant among many other things.
