The SetSquared Partnership Investors' Showcase will feature 20 new technology companies who will be presenting to around 150 venture capitalists (VCs).
Investors will get the chance to hear from a range of companies who specialise in a range of products and areas including drug discovery, medical devices, software and customer monitoring solutions.
Each company is likely to be looking for an investment of up to £2 million over the coming year, however returns for investor who back the right company could be huge.
Dr Neil Bradshaw, chair of the SetSquared Partnership, said: “UK university spin-out companies and their business incubators are proving to be highly successful.
“In the past three years alone, 25 quality spin-out companies have floated on the stock market at a value of £1.5 billion.”
The Minister for Science and Innovation, Lord Sainsbury, will address the conference, which will take place on October 16, as will Francis Carpenter, chief executive of the European Investment Fund.
To date, the SetSquared Partnership has helped start-ups to raise more than £25m of early stage funding and over £45m of follow-on finance.
