For the second year in a row, LBA picked up the award for Private Investor Network of the Year at the 2006 Investor Allstars UK Venture Capital Awards.
The event attended by 650 investors and professionals was held at the Hilton Park Lane hotel.
The award was given to the LBA for its excellent track record on providing early stage finance to small and medium businesses seeking funding between £100,000 to £750,000.
The judges noted the quality of the group’s deals such as the deal for Vibrant Media Ltd, which has already secured very impressive returns for a £500,000 syndicate of LBA angels.
The LBA were also commended for its commitment to best practice and for its close relationship with the Venture Capital (VC) community.
Anthony Clarke, managing director of London Business Angels, said: “We are delighted to have received this award two years running as we continue to encourage a close relationship between VCs and Angels to provide a seamless supply of capital to high growth small and medium businesses which are the lifeblood of a dynamic UK economy.”
