A company which has designed technology to fight diseases, such as the hospital superbug MRSA, has floated on the PLUS stock exchange.
The Oxfordshire-based Zeta Compliance Group, which has contracts to manage water system hygiene with clients such as NHS trusts, universities and banks, has joined PLUS with a market capitalisation of £1.5m.
The company has developed mobile and web technology to help its clients monitor their risk to diseases such as legionnaires and MRSA. Notable clients include HBOS and Leeds teaching hospital.
“PLUS is central to our strategy of acquiring other service companies in the water and air hygiene businesses,” says chairman, John Caines.
“Our goal is to develop the business over the long term, ensuring it is principally owned by the people working in it.”
The company worked with the accountants and business advisers, James Cowper on the flotation, as well as the brokers St Helen’s Capital and the law firm TLT.
Caines was introduced to Zeta by Alastair Cavanagh, who heads up James Cowper’s technology angel fund raising. Cavanagh was also involved in the arrangement of angel funding for Zeta in 2005.
