Gyro International, one of Europe’s largest B2B marketing agencies, has secured £50m of investment in order to continue its rapid growth.
The company has been on a major acquisition spree during the past 12 months acquiring no less than four companies during 2007.
The finance, from an unnamed US private equity firm means, that the company is likely to continue making buy-ups for the foreseeable future.
Its previous backer the UK private equity firm Octopus will now exit from the business along with other investors. However, senior management in the business will remain the same.
The deal means Gyro, which has clients such as Sony and American Express, will be able to open several new international offices.
Also, it plans to diversify its services such as include PR, data management and a standalone digital offering through the acquisition of other companies.
CEO Gary Brine said: “The investment is a significant step towards achieving Gyro’s ambitions to become the biggest and most successful B2B marketing agency in the world.
“By continuing to expand Gyro International into sectors that offer opportunity for growth and in key geographical markets, we are able to offer our clients a truly integrated, international offering in a way that our competitors simply cannot match.”
Chief operating officer Richard Glasson added that although the company has been an active buyer there has still been strong organic growth in the business.
“Over the last five years Gyro International has delivered average compound revenue growth of over 45% - the great majority of which has been organic.
“That rate of growth is set to continue with the support of our new backers, and we are extremely well placed to take advantage of the market opportunities that we see ahead of us.”
