Young entrepreneurs running the UK’s most exciting and promising businesses can now apply to become a Growing Business 2011 Young Gun.

Now in its ninth year, Young Guns celebrates the most outstanding crop of young entrepreneurs in the UK. Only 30 individuals are selected each year, and the illustrious alumni includes the likes of Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent Drinks, Jamie Murray-Wells, founder of Glasses Direct and Tom Allason, co-founder of eCourier and Shutl.

To enter, you must be aged 35 or under; running a privately-owned business with fantastic growth potential and employing between 5-500 staff. Your business must be turning over more than £1m, or you must have raised more than £250,000 capital.

The initiative, sponsored by accountancy and advisory firm haysmacintyre and law firm Farrer & Co, culminates in an exclusive photo shoot and networking lunch, at which the 2011 ‘Top Gun’ will be named.

Michael Phillips founded Consumerchoices.co.uk in 2005 and was named Top Gun in 2010. He said: “Being named Top Gun was a huge boost to the whole business. Our staff were excited be part of winning such a significant award. Just being named a Young Gun business has really helped our profile in the business community.”

The closing date for entries is June 24 2011.
