A new venture-capital backed MBO 'School' is set to have its inaugural session over the weekend of 13th October, with £5,000 worth of free tickets available to firms considering an MBO.

The School, which is backed by Smith & Williamson, Albion Ventures and law firm Bird & Bird, will aim to teach businesses to successfully navigate sensitive areas of management buyouts, including valuation, financing and tax, legal issues and pitching. Businesses that attend will have a guarantee of confidentiality that their information will not be revealed to any 3rd parties.

Personnel on the workshop include investor David Gudgin, corporate finance specialist Brian Livingston and solicitor Geraint Lloyd of Bird & Bird who will advise on legal issues.

The first workshop will be held on the weekend of 13th/14th October at a venue close to Heathrow Airport. To celebrate the opening, the sponsors have made available £5,000 worth of free tickets for businesses considering an MBO to attend.
