Gordon Ramsay Holdings Limited, the company that operates all of the TV chef’s restaurants, media and consultancy projects, has agreed a new funding deal.

The deal with The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which provides the company with both working capital and capital expenditure, will support it with three new openings, including a boutique hotel, in London and Amsterdam.

The Michelin-starred chef’s company will launch two new restaurants in London later this summer, the ‘York and Albany’ in Camden and a fine-dining Italian restaurant in Mayfair, known as ‘Murano’.

Both will be run by Ramsay’s long-time colleague, the renowned chef Angela Hartnett. The ‘York and Albany’ will also be transformed into a boutique hotel – Ramsay’s first foray into the hotel sector. On the European front, Gordon Ramsay Holdings will open their first restaurant in The Netherlands at The Pulitzer Hotel in Amsterdam.

“This is an exciting year for Gordon Ramsay Holdings as we continue to expand both in the UK and globally,” Ramsay said.

“The York & Albany is our first foray into hotels and Murano will confirm Angela Hartnett as the UK’s most talented and accomplished female chef.  I am delighted that RBS can support us on these amazing projects”

In 2006 and 2007 Gordon Ramsay Holdings opened a number of new restaurants in the United States – the ‘Gordon Ramsay at the London’, ‘Maze’ and ‘Bar London’ restaurants in New York, and the ‘Gordon Ramsay and ‘Cielo’ restaurants in West Hollywood and Florida. The company also invested in three London pubs, ‘The Narrow’ in Limehouse, ‘The Devonshire’ in Chiswick and ‘The Warrington’ in Maida Vale, all of which opened in 2007 and early 2008.

Recently, Gordon Ramsay Holdings has also opened a restaurant in Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, appropriately named ‘Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food’ and designed by New York firm Bentel & Bentel.

Mark Cattle, Head of the Leisure Team at RBS, added: “We are delighted to be working with Gordon Ramsay Holdings.

“The new financial package put in place for the company means that they can implement their expansion plans from a sound and secure platform.

“Their business strategy has proven to be very fruitful, and the Gordon Ramsay brand is now synonymous with modern and exquisitely fresh food. He has brought entirely different standards to eating in restaurants.”
