Growing Business has joined alliance with Barclays to organise two ‘Boosting Business’ masterclasses.

The seminars, which focus on how new media and foreign trade can help business owners attract new customers, will include presentations from Will Whitehorn, former president of Virgin Galactic and Andrew Gerrie, CEO of Lush Cosmetics.

Inspired by the recent results of the annual Barclays Business Regional Impact Index, the events’ agenda draws on evidence that 37% of growing businesses are looking to innovation to drive growth in 2012, but many business owners remain cautious following a turbulent year.

The first evening seminar will be held in Peterborough on 7th November, with satellite links to Birmingham, Glasgow, Harrogate and Knutsford. A second flagship workshop, with the same speakers, will take place in London on 9th November and link to sessions in Brighton, Plymouth and Newport Gwent.

All nine venues will have two-way filming and audio link-up to allow interaction with delegates in all locations. A live webinar will also give entrepreneurs who are unable to attend the seminars an opportunity to link up online.

Furthermore, all the events will include networking sessions and local entrepreneurs will be sharing their experiences. The London event will be attended by special guest Richard Moross of Moo.com and Samantha Hale of Advance Performance UK will be in Peterborough.

Ian Wallis, editor of Growing Business explained why the seminars are so timely, saying:

“The business landscape is changing at an extraordinary rate and companies looking to grow in the coming year and beyond will do well to explore key emerging opportunities.

“Mobile commerce is growing at an incredible rate and has enormous potential as a commercial platform for companies of all shapes and sizes.

“The tough economic climate has also put more of an emphasis on the customer and looking to other territories. These seminars are unique in embracing three such critical markets for growth with the perspectives of entrepreneurs who have got fabulous first-hand experience.”

Steve Cooper, managing director of Barclays Business & Personal Banking Solutions added:

“This year over 10,000 business owners have attended one of 500 free Barclays seminars. We are committed to helping revitalise the UK economy, which is dependent on small businesses having the confidence to invest and grow.”

The ‘Boosting Business’ seminars are organised in partnership with ACCA, UK Trade and Investment, Orange and Business Link. For more information or to book a place to attend, click here
