A major European competition aimed at new companies looking for funding is coming to England in the Autumn.
The European Tech Tour is offering the country’s early-stage technology businesses the chance to get a slice of an overall pot of €10bn.
The event to be held on October 17-19 will feature 25 selected businesses that will pitch their ideas to representatives from the world of venture capitalism.
The events organisers say that they are seeking entries from across the technology spectrum internet security, ‘clean tech’, wireless technology, Web 2.0 applications, medical devices and nanotech.
Also, that finalists can expect to enjoy considerable media coverage and networking opportunities.

Keith Arundale, president of the English Tech Tour 2007, who is organising this leg of the tour described England as a ‘hot-bed’ of innovation.
He said: “We already know England is a hot-bed of technology innovation as we had more than 200 entrants for the last English Tech Tour in 2004.
“This year, the funds that will be present at this exclusive event represent over €10bn worth of capital to invest.
“Finalists will also have access to invaluable insider expertise and potential alliance partners.
“Our role will be to encourage and assist them in scaling their business in order to enable them to compete on an international level.”
