Sports nutrition brand Maximuscle was crowned the ‘T Mobile Fast Growth Business of the Year’ at an awards ceremony in London last night.

The company, which impressed judges with its growth rate and market share, also scooped awards for Angel or VC-backed Business of the Year and Product Manufacturer of the Year at the first ever Fast Growth Business Awards.

Zef Eisenberg, Maximuscle’s founder, commented that the awards were welcome recognition of the hard work, passion and commitment that has gone into the business.

“These awards are for the whole company from the warehouse guys through to the board,” he said.

Following the success of the inaugural event, the awards, organised by Crimson Business in conjunction with Growing Business magazine, will now be held annually to honour the fastest-growing small and medium-sized businesses in the UK.

“If last night is a sign of things to come for the Fast Growth Business Awards we’ve got a hell of a lot to look forward to,” said Ian Wallis, editor of Growing Business.

“The judges and I were staggered at the quality of entries across the board. Some of the most outstanding, and in many cases, previously unheralded companies, have received their just rewards by winning.”

Also celebrating last night was Laura Tenison MBE, founder of the multi-channel nursery and maternity retailer Jojo Maman Bébé, who picked up the awards for Female Entrepreneur of the Year and Retail / Leisure Business of the Year.

“ We are absolutely delighted to win two categories in these prestigious awards,” commented Tenison.

“We are growing at a tremendous rate and our products are sold through a multitude of channels – our catalogue, a thriving website, 16 boutiques plus we have a further eight stores opening this year.”
