Consumerchoices, the online price comparison site founded by 2010 Top Gun Michael Phillips, has launched the UK’s first Freeview TV high definition (HD) coverage checker.
The free interactive tool advises consumers on the availability of all HD TV services in their area. It is the only HD checker in the country to integrate postcode-driven results for local exchange, cable and Freeview availability, as well as satellite services.
Phillips has called the launch “a significant development for consumerchoices.co.uk”, saying that the growth of HD TV is likely to spark an increase in uptake of its services.
Phillips added that “the demand (for HD) is predicted to increase with upcoming events such as the London Olympics,” and said that “we are thrilled to be able to provide our consumers with Britain’s first ever comprehensive and accurate Freeview HD availability tool.”
