The UK’s most prestigious business award has opened for applications for 2013.
Business and enterprise minister Mark Prisk invited entries for the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise as he revealed that the quality of 2012’s winners was “the highest ever.”
The honour from Her Majesty the Queen is Britain’s highest business accolade and is reserved for only the country’s most innovative companies.
This year’s winners – who are presenting their products at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) in Sheffield until 4 September – included recycled fabrics manufacturer Camira Fabrics Ltd and Microgard Ltd, which makes specialised industrial clothing.
They will now be invited to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace on 13 November.
Prisk said: “The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise can make a real difference to a business’s prospects and provide national recognition for outstanding achievements.
“I would encourage companies from across the UK to apply for next year’s awards and make 2013 even more successful than this record-breaking year of enterprise.”
The 2013 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise will be accepting entries until 28 September 2012. For more information or to apply, visit the Queen’s Awards website
