Ecommerce firm Gift Republic was founded in 2006 with the ambitious aim of becoming the largest gift company in the world. The company hasn’t quite achieved that, but aiming high has helped it grow rapidly from Sam Wahid’s bedroom office to a staff of over 30 and revenues of £3.2m from both consumers and trade clients. It employs a team dedicated to international sales and Wahid says 2010 will see an aggressive push into the US, Canada and Australia, as well as an expansion of European distribution.
