Secret Millionaire Mark Pearson, the founder of online discount business MyVoucherCodes, has completed a £250,000 investment in ShareMyPlaylists, a resource which allows Spotify users to download and swap playlists for free.

It is thought the money will enable ShareMyPlaylists, which relaunched last October and is already attracting 400 new members a day, to refine its existing social media and community functions, and grow in line with Spotify.

According to ShareMyPlaylists founder Mark Donoghue, Pearson’s experience in building an online brand will play a significant role in the development of the fledgling business.

Donoghue said: “I’ve known Mark for many years, and his skills in growing a business like MyVoucherCodes.co.uk into the massive brand that it is today will be welcome. We’re looking forward to working together.”

The ShareMyPlaylists deal is Pearson’s second significant investment this year; in May, he committed £1m to user-generated news start-up Blottr.

Speaking about his latest investment, Pearson said that ShareMyPlaylists “represents everything that inspires me about the newly emerging media platforms that the internet can offer.

He added: “ShareMyPlaylists.com is already gaining huge traction and is one to watch in a social music space. I am thrilled to be playing a part in its future and to be working with Kieron and the team.”
