Shutl, the online delivery service founded by former Growing Business Top Gun Tom Allason, has announced an exclusive distribution partnership with consumer electronics firm Maplin.

Under the terms of the agreement, Shutl, which can deliver goods bought online in as little as 90 minutes, will convey goods ordered from the Maplin websites.

Initially, Shutl will distribute goods from 83 Maplin stores across the UK. The partnership will be extended to a further 21 stores next year.

The partnership with Maplin marks yet another milestone for Shutl, which has already inked agreements with retail giants such as Argos, Warehouse and Karen Millen.

Allason – who received top prize at the 2007 Young Guns awards for his original start-up business eCourier.co.uk, said:

“Adoption by a major consumer technology retailer like Maplin is a significant advance for Shutl, and sets the pace for the future of the industry.

“The consumer electronics market is incredibly competitive, and we strongly believe that Shutl will prove a great differentiator for Maplin.”
