James Taylor, founder of the SuperStars child development company and a Young Gun of 2009, has completed the takeover of Rising Stars, one of his firm’s principal  competitors.

Originally launched as SportStars, the company was rebranded in 2010 to reflect its diverse services, which include sports coaching, art and music lessons, afterschool clubs and holiday courses.

The takeover of Rising Stars, a Cardiff-based organisation, is part of a strategic growth plan which will see SuperStars’ existing customer base of schools in South Wales, Bristol, Hereford and Liverpool augmented with Rising Stars’ existing clients.

Rising Stars founder Lewis Peach will join the SuperStars team to run the firm’s Hereford office, which opened at the end of 2010. He will also receive a percentage of any profits made from this branch.

Speaking about the acquisition, Taylor said: “Over the last six years we have grown the business organically. However bringing Rising Stars under the SuperStars umbrella provides us with an opportunity to further accelerate our growth in the marketplace.

“We embarked on this takeover because we were impressed with the company’s client base and track record. To ensure we remain committed to offering a high level of services we have appointed Lewis to oversee and further develop our Hereford branch, to ensure we deliver programmes to school inspection standards as the company continues to grow.”
