The TNWA Group, an online multiplayer games company, has received an undisclosed investment from Creative Venture Partners.
The money has been used for the acquisition of rival games company Enemy Down.
The acquisition makes TNWA the largest tournament gaming community in the UK and third largest in Europe.
TNWA’s main software development is Prizefight, a cash for prizes programme which it has incorporated into its own online tournament products.
The company says it feels confident that it can grow with the backing of Creative and is looking forward to a bright future.
TNWA chief executive Paul Sulyok says: “Creative Ventures has brought more than capital to TNWA.
“From due diligence, they've been very directly involved in supporting the business with professional and strategic management support.
“Decision-making is effective and has already enabled swift action, as we have done on Enemy Down.”
“Their innovative model of supporting small media, tech sector companies fills an underserved gap beyond family and friends, by combining capital with their industry expertise.”
The Creative Ventures Group, founded in 2006, provides finance and advice to new media and technology entrepreneurs looking for sub #2m investment.
