‘A world you like. With a climate you like’, The European Commission campaign launched to combat climate change has chosen WhipCar to represent the UK as part of the initiative.

Run by the Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA), which was established in 2010, the initiative promotes green living and a low-carbon economy with the aim to cut greenhouse gas emissions to 20% of 1990 levels by 2020.

The European Union scheme has provided a case study on its site of car-sharing firm WhipCar, as an example of an eco-friendly business.

Founders of WhipCar and 2012 Young Guns Vinay Gupta and Tom Wright claim to help reduce carbon emissions by decreasing the number of cars on the road, while also enabling customers to try out electronic cars.

The neighbour-to-neighbour car club was also recently named among other cost-efficient companies on ITV’s This Morning as part of the ‘Tip of the Week’ feature.
