  1. These rules apply to the Canon PIXMA Competition (“Competition”)
  2. Crimson Business Limited or any of its group of companies (the “Company”) are the promoter of this Competition. Canon (UK) Limited is the Principal Sponsor (“Principal Sponsor”).
  3. For your business to get the chance to win one of three top of the range A3 Canon PIXMA iX7000 printers and to be profiled in Growing Business, Entrants are invited to submit examples of their best marketing promotion or the piece they feel demonstrates how it is going to take their business to the next level.
  4. By submitting an entry you accept these Competition rules and any amendments of these rules which the Company may make from time to time. The Company reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and/or winner in its absolute discretion for any reason and without notice in accordance with these Rules.
  5. Entrants may submit no more than 3 examples of their best marketing promotions, in PDF or JPEG file format, in colour or black & white, online at www.growingbusiness.co.uk/canoncompetition. When submitting a digital file, the file name of your entries must be the name of the company or your first name and surname. Entries must be accompanied by a supporting statement not exceeding 500 words of how the creative marketing piece helped your business.
  6. This Competition will run from midnight on 6th February 2010 until midday 18th March 2010. All entries must be received by midday 18th March 2010. Late or incomplete entries will be disqualified. No responsibility can be accepted for entries which are delayed, misdirected or corrupted during submission for any reason whatsoever and proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
  7. Unless otherwise stated, the Competition is open to all UK residents of 18 years and over, except employees of: (a) the Company; and (b) any third party appointed by the Company to organise and/or manage the Competition; and (c) the Competition Principal Sponsor(s) who run a start up or small to medium sized business in the UK.
  8. No purchase is necessary.
  9. Entries must be submitted by an individual on behalf of a business to which the entry is connected and, unless otherwise stated, are limited to one per business or household.
  10. The prize is an A3 Canon PIXMA iX7000 printer. There will be three winners of the Prize. Prizes will be delivered by the Principal Sponsor of this Competition within 28 days of notification of the winner.
  11. Prizes are as stated and no cash or other alternative can be offered.
  12. Prize value correct at time of going to press. The Principal Sponsor has the right to substitute the prize for a similar item of equal or higher value if the stated prize is not available. No money can be added to the prize.
  13. Prizes are subject to the Principal Sponsor’s standard terms and conditions for its products. Acceptance of a prize is deemed to be acceptance of those terms and conditions.
  14. All valid and eligible entries will be judged by the editorial team at Growing Business and a representative of the Principal Sponsor and winning entries selected on the basis of what the judges deem to be the most creative entries. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  15. By submitting an entry, winners agree to participate in the Winners Case Study on the use of the A3 Canon PIXMA iX7000 printer in their business. In return for their participation, subject to availability and while stocks last the Principal Sponsors will procure the supply of consumables in the form of one set of genuine Canon cartridges (PGI-7BK, PGI-9PBK, PGI-9C, PGI-9M, PGI-9Y and PGI-9 Clear) per winner and a stock of compatible genuine Canon paper not exceeding 1000 sheets per winner.
  16. By entering the Competition you or your employees:
    1. grant the Company, any third parties appointed by the Company for the purpose of organising and/or managing the Competition and the Principal Sponsor permission to use your name, that of the business and likeness for the purpose of organising and/or managing the Competition, for announcing the winners of the Competition and for related promotional purposes; and
    2. grant the Company and the Principal Sponsor the right to use your personal information to send you information about their products and services which may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive this information, please check the relevant box on the online entry form.
    3. accept that all entries will become the property of the Company upon receipt and will not be returned. You will retain all rights you have in the copyright and other intellectual property rights comprising the Competition entry but, by entering the Competition, you grant the Company, the Principal Sponsor and their licensees the right free of charge to republish your Competition entry anywhere in the world;
    4. waive any moral rights or similar rights you have in your Competition entry whether such rights arise pursuant to the Copyright, Designs and Patent Act 1988 (the “Act”) or equivalent legislation anywhere in the world; and
    5. warrant to the Company that the Competition entry is wholly original to you or your employees or agents commissioned to create those works and not wholly or substantially copied from any other material and that the Competition entry is not otherwise obscene, defamatory or does not cause injury to or invade the privacy of or otherwise infringe or violate any third party rights or any applicable legislation or regulations.
  17. If the Company have reason to believe your entry is not your own work or work commissioned for your business or otherwise breaches these Competition rules, then the entry will not be considered.
  18. If you are a winner, you may have to provide additional information (including, without limitation, proof of age or identity) and/or complete additional documents and return them to the Company within a specified period. Failure to provide additional information and/or complete additional documents within the required time period, or notification returned as undeliverable as addressed will result in your disqualification as a winner and an alternative winner will be selected.
  19. The name(s) of the winner(s) and details of the winning entry or entries will be sent to anyone who requests the same within one (1) month of the closing date of the Competition. Requests should be sent to the postal or email address for competition entries and, if postal, should be accompanied by an SAE.
  20. If you are a winner of a Competition:
    1. the receipt by you of any prize is conditional upon you complying with any and all applicable laws, rules and regulations including, without limitation, these Rules;
    2. you acknowledge and agree that neither the Company or any Competition sponsor(s) or any of their employees, agents or subcontractors shall have any liability to you whatsoever in connection with your use and/or possession of your prize, provided that nothing in these Rules shall exclude or limit the liability of any party for personal injury or death caused by negligence or for anything else which cannot be excluded or limited by law.
  21. If any of these rules are deemed to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, the affected rules shall be deleted but the remaining rules shall continue in full force and effect.
  22. The Company or Canon (UK) Limited or their associated group companies shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any entrant under this Competition. However nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting liability for personal injury, death, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation caused by the proven negligence of employees or agents of the Company or Canon (UK) Limited or their associated group companies.
  23. Canon (UK) Limited shall not be liable for any failure to supply the prizes where such failure is caused by any supervening circumstances outside its control which amount to force majeure and which without the fault of either party renders performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution.
  24. These rules are governed by English law, and any disputes in relation to them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
